Problems recordings Building 36 (EEMCS)

UPDATE: 07-09-2026
Problem SOLVED

Networks made adjustments this morning. At this moment, the problem appears to be resolved. We will continue to monitor it throughout the week.

Since last Monday (31-8-2026), there have been issues with Collegerama recordings within the EEMCS building (36).

Last summer, the AV equipment in EEMCS was replaced/renewed. During this process, the signals were converted to allow streaming over the network. This allows overflow rooms to be created and recordings to be made on any Collegerama recorders within the building.
Responsibilities:

Collegerama is only the recipient of the AV technology signals from a specific room to our recorder.
The AV technology of the room is the responsibility of ICT-AV.

This was tested during the summer, and there appeared to be no problem when the streams were running.
However, since last Monday, August 31, 2026, it has become apparent that there are issues with the streams. This is a major problem for Collegerama (as well). It appears to be a network-related problem that we (ICT-AV and Collegerama) discovered on Tuesday afternoon, September 1, 2026. These same streams are also used to facilitate an overflow room.

Yesterday (02-09-2026), ICT-AV and ICT-Netwerken already looked into the problem, and after restarting various systems, the issue appeared to be resolved. However, a few hours later, it turned out to be happening again.

Since this morning, a small team (ICT-AV, ICT-Netwerken, Collegerama) has been looking deeper into the problem, and the urgency has been placed high on the agenda within the ICT-AV and ICT-Netwerken teams.
At this moment (today), settings on various systems are being adjusted and compared with other identical systems already running on campus to see if anything can be found there. The problem is also now being continuously monitored and reviewed for potential adjustments.

As Collegerama, we will continue to facilitate the recordings as usual, because we see that it does not occur with every recording.

If the problem is resolved, we will report it.
