• It is possible to gain access to Collegerama recordings. A request will have to be made via the SelfServicePortal. We can then grant access to the recordings using the teacher(s) information. This allows the teacher to carry out actions and any adjustments to the metadata of the recording. It is also possible to (temporarily) give the video a different visibility status (offline/online).
However, the responsibility for adjustments within the videos and status will therefore lie with the teacher(s) and no longer with Collegerama.

    Required information in Call:

    • Subject code
    • Academic year subject
    • Name and email address for teacher access
  • It is possible to add interactions through hotspot, button or text to a video. This can be added to the timeline. This makes it possible to place interactions (other Collegerama presentation, text, time in presentation).

A request will have to be made via the SelfServicePortal. We can then provide access to the relevant recordings using the details (state name + email address) of the teacher(s).

    Required information in Call:

    • Subject code
    • Academic year subject
    • Name and email address for teacher access
  • Starting in the new academic year 2026-2027, a pilot will be launched to prevent unnecessary recordings without sound (breaks, no lecture, mute/no microphone, tutorials, etc.). This pilot will automatically pause recording after 90 seconds if there is no active sound. As soon as the sound returns, recording will automatically resume.

This means that breaks, no lectures, and mute/no microphone use will not be recorded.
Note: This has no effect on the technical aspects of the lecture hall.

This pilot is being tested in the lecture hall: EEMCS-Ampere & EEMCS-Boole.
Upon a positive evaluation, this will be rolled out to all other fixed recorders on campus

  • By default, recordings can only be viewed in the online player. Because we record multiple streams simultaneously, only the online player can play them simultaneously, and viewers can choose which source they want to resize.
Furthermore, the copyright (legal ruling) for all videos on Collegerama belongs to TU Delft. This means we must keep the videos behind a netID login and do not offer a download option for standard educational content.

The application is considered an archive function. Therefore, the videos will be preserved by default. Currently, there is no other policy.

All videos since 2004 are still available online.

  • Why is Collegerama so happy with it?

Collegerama has been recording lectures on Campus since 2004. Since the start, users of Collegerama have asked us to somehow make the laser pointer of lecturers visible in our recordings. This is almost impossible to do, for technical and practical reasons.

Collegerama captures the presentation slides digitally and since the Logitech Spotlight is a software based pointer, it will show both in the lecture hall AND in the recording. This provides a much better recording since viewers can see what a lecturer is pointing at in his/her presentation

  • As of September 2026, a central Framework Lecture Capture has been agreed upon within TU Delft. A policy regarding the recording of lectures has been established for each faculty.

For questions regarding this policy, please contact your own faculty (ESA).

  • To be able to use this, access to the recordings must first be given. The recordings will have to be given more rights to gain access. For this, a call will have to be made with the information below. This is only possible for employees with a TUDelft netID.

  • First check before contact:

You are able to login to Brightspace, webmail?

Collegerama is connected via SurfConext (which is the gateway to all TU Delft platforms). Collegerama only checks your netid on the authentication server. If you can login to your webmail, you should also be able to login to Collegerama.

Is there an issue at TU Delft, you can check it here: http://meldingen-ict.tudelft.nl

  • It is possible to edit a recording of Collegerama. Editing of the recordings is only possible with the corresponding editor of the supplier. This has to do with the different inputs (camera, presentation, smartboard, audio) that must continue to run sync and so you can choose in the player which input you want to view large / small.

    The following is possible:

    Edit options:
    – Trim front / back
    – Remove small part
    – Extract small part of presentation and upload again to new link

    1) Adjustment Collegerama support
    It is therefore necessary:
    – Right link
    – Right times
    – What needs to be done

    2) Adjust yourself as a teacher
For this we need to set some extra rights that make it possible. After that it is possible to make the adjustment in the online editor.

In both cases, please contact us via our contact form

  • Iframe is not working since July 2023

    Note TU Delft Security:
Due to the vulnerability, it is no longer allowed to perform a login session at another URL via an iframe. So logging into collegerama.tudelft.nl via an iframe is no longer possible with recorded web lectures with a course code. These are behind the TU Delft netID login.

You can place the link directly on the website or Learning System.

For public/event recording it is possible to use an IFRAME where you do not need to log in.

  • Requests for recording weblecture(s) is only possible by the teacher/employee. Students can not send a request.

  • Request within 3 days before the start of admission is not possible via the request application. For a very late request, we will first have to look at the capacity to see what is still possible.

If a lecture series wants to be recorded, it can be requested and we can be contacted to see if it is still possible to add it to the series when the rest of the series is being processed.

  • Starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, new recordings will no longer be accessible on Collegerama after 3 years (recording date). The recordings will be moved to an offline archive. After 7 years (recording date), the recordings will be permanently deleted.

See website, Retention periods TU Delft, no 48 - Educational units

The recordings made in the past (up to the 2025-2026 academic year) are not yet linked to the new policy. The necessary actions are still being reviewed with DMA (Document Management & Archive) regarding this.

    Period 4 1 February 2027 26 maart 2027 14 April 2027

    Note:

    1) Data is retrieved from the TU Delft MyTimetable. If it is not yet available there, it cannot be requested yet. You can contact the scheduler for this.
**) It is always possible to make a request after the period. We will look at what is still possible on the basis of request after the date provided. This has to do with possible logistical and personnel deployment.

  • We assume that the recording recorder can use a fixed network connection (wifi is not possible) in the lecture hall. If this is present, the recording will be online within 20 minutes after the lecture.

No fixed network during the lecture? The lectures will then be online within 2 working days. The recorder will then have to be connected to a different location to upload the recording. We try to implement this as soon as possible.

  • In the article below from the supplier you can find which video formats can be uploaded.

For fast processing, an .mp4; H264 the fastest option without the video yet to be transcoded.

    https://support.sonicfoundry.com/knowledge/article/000003779

  • To be able to record as many requests as possible, we made a priority protocol for recordings:

    • Has the lecture been recorded in the last two years?
If not, your request has priority
    • How many recordings are being requested by your faculty?
We try to find a balance between faculty requests
    • How many lectures per week?
For example: can we record your course when it is offered once a week? Can we record your course when it is offered three time a week?
    • Is the location of the requested recording reachable for our recording trolley?
    • Did we receive the recording request before the deadline for the upcoming lecture period?
For each lecture period, we have set a date before which requests should be made. After this date, there will be limited options to make recording possible. Exceptions can be made for lecture halls where Collegerama has fixed recorders in place. Recordings which require student operators and mobile recording equipment depend on the availability of said assets.

Using this priority protocol, we hope we can facilitate as many requests as possible.
