Starting in the new academic year 2026-2027, a pilot will be launched to prevent unnecessary recordings without sound (breaks, no lecture, mute/no microphone, tutorials, etc.). This pilot will automatically pause recording after 90 seconds if there is no active sound. As soon as the sound returns, recording will automatically resume.

This means that breaks, no lectures, and mute/no microphone use will not be recorded.
Note: This has no effect on the technical aspects of the lecture hall.

This pilot is being tested in the lecture hall: EEMCS-Ampere & EEMCS-Boole.
Upon a positive evaluation, this will be rolled out to all other fixed recorders on campus
